Hello, I’m Lindy Irving, and as well as being the founder and Lead Tutor of Celebrant Training Scotland, I’m also a Wedding, Family & Funeral Celebrant based in Central Scotland.
In 1992, after having my two children, I joined the Scottish Ambulance Service, where I worked my way up from Care Assistant to Ambulance Technician, to Paramedic, until in 1999 I became Scotland’s first female Helicopter medic. In 2004, I left the Ambulance Service for pastures new, and after completing a 4-year Psychology degree at the University of Glasgow, followed by a Postgraduate qualification in Mental Health Recovery, I began my Coaching & Professional Speaking business.
Since that time, in addition to gaining an MA (Hons) Psychology from the University of Glasgow, a PgCert in Mental Health Recovery and Social Inclusion from the University of Hertfordshire, a Life Coaching Diploma, and a Diploma in Hypnotherapy. I’m also a qualified NLP Practitioner, and in July 2019 I am due to be ordained as an Interfaith Minister.
In 2015, while working as a lecturer in Edinburgh, I was asked by friends to conduct their beautiful forest wedding in Dumfries & Galloway and it was such a wonderful experience that I made the decision to retrain and become a full-time Celebrant, and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. In the past 2 and a bit years I have conducted over 350 funerals, and dozens of Weddings, Namings & Vow Renewal Ceremonies. Then last year I was asked to get involved in the training of new Celebrants, and from this Celebrant Training Scotland was born.
When I’m not Celebranting or Training, I enjoy spending time in my beautiful garden in the village of Doune in Perthshire, or with my adorable new grandson Lochlan!
